TECO-Peoples Gas recognized by peers for use of TechInsight and TechRoute

Denver, November 15th, 2005 TECO-Peoples Gas was recognized by its peers and received the American Gas Association Best Practices honors in Dallas, TX October 12th. Utilities from across the country met at the AGA’s Best Practices Round Table for Field Operations Dispatch to discuss approaches and challenges in effective field operations dispatch.

Peoples Gas was recognized specifically for the use of 3-Point Technologies products for effective dispatching and accurate operations measurements. Peoples Gas has been using TechInsight since 2002 for accurate, detailed reports and analysis on all aspects of the operations. All levels of the company have access to the reports and everyone knows where they stand and the information is accurate.

In March of 2004 Peoples Gas started using TechRoute for dispatch optimization in an effort to reduce cost, reduce missed appointments, and maintain or reduce the current workforce. Building off the granular level of detail and analysis in TechInsight, TechRoute uses this information to assign and sequence orders based on flexible business rules accounting for drive mileage, starting locations, job priorities, and technician efficiencies and quality by geography, job type and other job attributes.
